Welcome to this weeks newsletter, or should I say Bienvenue. Last weekend was Thurlestone Golf Clubs inaugural Junior Golf Tour which was at des Ormes Resort in Brittany, France.

8 Juniors and 5 adults travelled on the overnight ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff for a weekend of Golf. The course we played couldn’t have been more different to here at Thurlestone with Trees lining every fairway as well as doglegs, ponds and lakes that we ‘all’ needed to negotiate!

It was a great learning experience for the ‘Junior Squad’ who thoroughly enjoyed themselves and played some good golf on a tricky course.

The 36 Hole Scores were 

1st - Alfie Messias - 36 32 - 68 points 
2nd - Finn Whelan - 31 36 - 67 points ocb 
2nd - George Messias - 33 34 - 67 points 
4th - Oliver Griffiths - 29 37 - 66 points 
5th - Ethan Bellamy - 34 31 - 65 points 

As you can see the scores were really close with 5 Juniors within 3 shots of one another.

On the Final day we got up ‘super early’ and played a Texas Scramble competition before ‘racing off’ to catch our ferry home.

Nigel Whelan, Lee Bellamy, Lucas Bellamy, George Messias - 70-6.6= 63.4 

Matt Messias, Ethan Bellamy, Toby White, Alfie Messias - 73-7.6 = 65.7


 

Last week we asked for some guinea pigs to trial out the newest Clubs from Callaway, Cobra, Wilson and PING. We now have 3 willing volunteers who will be contacted to arrange a mutually convenient time to come and trial the different Clubs. We will of course let you know how they get on……
