Get into golf

We start this week with a quick reminder about this Saturday's FREE adult taster session at 12 noon in conjunction with National Golf Month. If you know anyone who is considering starting or trying golf then please let them know about this session. They can book their place with us here in the pro shop by calling us on 01548 560715.

Don't worry if your friends/family can't make Saturday we are also starting some beginners 'Get into Golf' lessons starting on Saturday June 10th, 17th, 24th June, 1st, 8th, and 15th July from 4pm- 5pm.

These sessions are proving to be very popular with 2 groups of beginners already under way. We already have a few names on the list for these lessons so please do not hesitate to contact us to avoid disappointment.

 

Just what the golf's been looking for

Having seen the indisputable impact that Twenty20 has had on growing the game of cricket, golf has been looking for its equivalent for a little while now; a shorter, fun and more attractive form of the game which will help drive interest and participation amongst a new generation.

This is where GolfSixes comes in. Entrance music, pyrotechnics, nearest the pin, longest drive, player-fan interaction and a shot clock were all part of the spectacle at the inaugural event last weekend, won by the youthful Denmark team. Yes there were things which will be improved upon moving forward but amid everything, GolfSixes proved that an exciting game of golf can be played over six holes and in under 60 minutes.

It's important to stress that - regardless of whether you enjoyed the weekend's play or not - GolfSixes is not designed to replace traditional golf as we know it, but to simply serve as a pathway to get more people playing the game we love.
