With the football season coming to an end last weekend we can now announce the winners of this years Proshop Premier Fantasy League. As you can imagine there has been lots of banter throughout the season with everyone involved in the league. 

Kevin Mingo led the way for most of the season but the pressure of moving house obviously got to him and he finished a back in 8th position. It was Rob Came who finished as this years winner and has won a £100 voucher for the pro shop. This was a bit of a surprise if I'm honest as Rob's form from last season was not great! Well done Rob, your new job has obviously worked wonders for your football managerial skills.



Richard Taffs has been steady from the off and was a deserved Runner-Up this year winning a £70 voucher for the pro shop and I sneaked into 3rd Place winning a £40 voucher just past Keith Crawford who was the man to beat with 2 weeks to go.

Although I am very grateful for my £40 pro shop voucher as the selection of products in store are excellent, I have decided to sponsor my winnings to the Junior's Competition Funds.

We had 21 players in the League this year and would love to get our league to 30+ players for next season, so unless your name is Antonio Conte you would be more than welcome to join the Thurlestone Professional Shop League for the 2017/2018 season. The entry to the league is only £10. Please let us know if you would like to be involved in next seasons league.

Each year, the week before the spring bank holiday, Wentworth Club plays host to the BMW PGA Championship; the European Tour's flagship event. It's one of the few times each year where we get the chance to see some of the world's best golfers compete on our shores.

It really is a stellar field this year. Defending champion Chris Wood will face some stiff competition from a host of rising stars such as Tyrrell Hatton, Andy Sullivan and Matthew Fitzpatrick, not to mention major champions Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose. It's going to be a belter.

One other person who will be teeing up in Surrey this week is past Ryder Cup player Edoardo Molinari. Now it's always interesting to learn a bit more about Tour golfers and what they get up to in their spare time, but you'll never believe Molinari's hidden talent…
