Get Into Golf

A few weeks ago we asked if you knew of any beginners who wanted to learn to play golf. With the Club Open Day coming up this Saturday we have 2 FREE taster sessions coming up this weekend at the Club Open Day from 12pm to 1pm and another session from 2pm to 3pm. Following on from this we also have a course of 6 ‘Get Into Golf’ lessons starting on Saturday 26th October.

There will be a maximum of 8 people in each of the groups on the 6 week course (dates listed below). In the 1 hour lessons we will cover the basics of Set-Up and Swing, Chipping, Pitching and Putting and even playing a hole on the course.

This the perfect way to ‘Get into Golf’ with others who have a similar ability. All equipment will be provided and we are even subsidising the cost of the lessons at only £35 per person with a maximim of 8 places.

Rahmbo runs riot...

To some back in his homeland, Jon Rahm is already the King of Spain and he cemented his status as Spain’s number one golfer with a five-shot victory in a home-grown top three lockout at the Open de Espana.

In the end, it proved quite comfortable for Rahm who converted his five-shot overnight lead into victory ahead of Cabrera-Bello (-17) and Del Val (-15).

Perhaps more importantly for Rahm, the win - his third of 2019 - puts him in pole position in the lucrative Race to Dubai standings, leapfrogging Open Champion Shane Lowry to top spot.

The victory also sees Rahm jump to fourth in the World Rankings, with three Europeans currently occupying three of the top five positions (Rory McIlroy second & Justin Rose fifth).

There may be fewer competitions down the club at this time of year, but that doesn’t mean you should hang the clubs up until spring. Winter provides the perfect opportunity to correct the wrongs and get your game in a better place ahead of 2020 when the season starts again.
