The Juniors held their Christmas Texas Scramble Competition on Saturday, with 15 Juniors playing and enjoying the sunshine.

The 'new style' Junior Competition started off with all of the Juniors meeting in the bar for Bacon Rolls and the younger Juniors were introduced to their 'mentors' for 2015. Each Non-Congu junior has been assigned 2 mentors to encourage them to play outside of the Junior Academy, to bring these boys and girls through more quickly, achieve their official handicaps and further fuel our Thurlestone Junior Team with more talent. 

It is a great plan, and the competition on Saturday just highlighted the commitment from the older Junior's as they guided and encouraged the younger members of their teams. 

The magnificent prize table sponsored by HSBC bank provided enough prizes for every junior on the day.

The results were 

1st Place Finn Whelan, Josh Gilbert and Ben Leetham Nett 31.5 
2nd Place Ben Woods, Lucas Mulligan and Alfie Messias Nett 32.2 
3rd Place Tom Orr, Zara Taffs and Toby White Nett 32.4 


Nearest the pin on 3rd was Tom Orr and the 6th was Ethan Mulligan. Well done to both boys who hit fantastic shots extremely close to the flags.

And finally Tom Orr kindly said a few words of thanks to Paula and Simon Orr for their organisation and outlined some of the exciting plans as Junior Captain in 2015. A fine day was had by all, roll-on 2015!



Don't forget our Proshop Christmas Draw will take place this Sunday, 21st December after the Men's Greensomes Competition- Approximately 3pm.
