It’s the home of golf, a bucket list location to visit for many, and the AIG Women’s Open is taking place there this week. St Andrews always delivers when it comes to providing world-class golfing spectacle. So, who’ll be looking to take home the trophy at the final women’s major of 2024?

All three Olympians who won medals in Paris will be looking to add a major trophy to this year’s accomplishments. Lydia Ko, Esther Henseleit, and Xiyu Janet Lin, who won gold, silver, and bronze medals will be teeing it up in Scotland this week.

American phenomenon Lexi Thompson will be playing in the tournament. She won the 2014 Chevron Championship when she was just 19 years old, and she earlier this year announced her retirement, making this her last major tournament to participate in as a professional golfer.

Amateur sensation Lottie Woad will be taking part in The Open. The 20-year-old won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur tournament back in April and has been ranked the World No.1 female amateur golfer since June this year.

Defending Champion Lilia Vu will be hoping to win back-to-back victories this weekend. The World No.2 won the Women’s Open by carding a superb effort of 14-under-par, beating second-placed Charley Hull by a thrilling 6 shots. Could she win it again?
