Last Saturday evening the Juniors celebrated their individual and collective successes at their Junior Presentation Evening. They enjoyed a delicious buffet followed by the presentation of the Trophy's.
Junior Captain, George Inch, thanked the Junior committee for all their hard work this year and Presented Liz Line with a lovely bunch of flowers. George also thanked the continued support from the Executive Committee, Management and Pro Shop and announced that Will Hoskin will be the 2025 Junior Captain.
This years prize winners were
1.Non-CONGU Handicap Cup for handicaps 29 - 54; for non-
congu junior who has lowered their handicap the most during
2024, from 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2024 ;
WINNER : Nancy Massingham 7.4 lower (47.2 to 39.8)
2.Presidents Cup most improved junior in 2024
WINNER : Oliver Chester
3.Yarrow Putting Cup
WINNER: Charlie Threshie
4.Junior Girls Cup for the girl who has played in the most
competitions in 2024
WINNER; Martha Massingham
5.Junior Boys Cup the boy who was the most consistent in, West
Devon League, Tamar cup and Basil Steer singles match play,
WINNER 2024: Aiden Mulligan won 2 singles matches
6. Order of Merit competitions, held as Opens this year 2024.
WINNER ; Finn Robson, he scored a total of 27 points in the
OOM points table at East Devon, Tiverton, RND and Saunton.
7.Emery Cup; best scratch score in competitions between 1st
October 2023- 30th September 2024
WINNER; George Inch, Gross 69 in Men’s Stableford 18th August
2024.
8.Eric Wilson Cup; For the most improved girl during the year
2024
WINNER : Nancy Massingham improved 7.4 shots (47.2 to
39.8) ,
9.Jades Components Cup for the boy who has lowered his
CONGU handicap the most during the year; From 1st October
2023 to 30th September 2024:
WINNER; Oliver Chester , the boy who has lowered by 10.1 shots
(28.5 to 18 .4)
10. Personality Shield
WINNERS : Lee and Sally Hoskins : For their services to the Junior Team over the past 3 Years.
11. Adult and Junior Foursomes Knockout Cup; for the winners of
the knockout competition
WINNERS : Shane and Finn Robson
12. Nick Nicholson Cup for the 2024 club v juniors match play;
WINNERS : Juniors team 5-0 matches . This was played in
November 2024.
13. Geoff Mills Cup ; a cup given by Monica Dickens for the
Junior Singles Knockout competition.
WINNER: Jacob Brooker
14. Liz Line Cup; for the best Stableford scores in THREE
Juniors competitions in January to April 2024
WINNER ; Will Robson 35+27+24=86 points
15. Stableford Winners cup; for best 3 Stableford scores in the
junior competitions throughout the year 2024,
WINNER ; Martha Massingham 38+41+44= 123 points
16.Summer cup for 2024 ; for CONGU handicap winner of the
stableford competition held on Thursday 22nd August 2024
