Last weekend, we held our annual festive junior event, mixing things up this year with a 6-hole Texas Scramble competition. Thirty-six players showed up in their Christmas jumpers and hats, ready for the fun in the sun at Thurlestone. They all arrived early for a big team-building warmup session, we taught the children how to prepare themselves before going out onto the course.
The teams were mixed, with some of our newest/youngest juniors and some of the more experienced juniors. It was lovely to see the older Juniors showing the younger ones how to play. It was a very close competition, with every team being under Par. There were only two shots between each group from 1st to 4th place and only 3 shots between the first 7 teams!
The results are as follows:
1st - Ollie Chester, Max Brooker, Ted Clayson, Zeb Willis (5 Under Par)
2nd- Will Robson, Bella Brooker, Harry Robinson, Toby Lavers (4 Under Par)
3rd - Tracy Loveys, Seb Giles, George Smallridge ( 4 Under Par)
We were blessed with a visit from the big man himself. Santa kindly gave out presents to all of our competitors. Most juniors made short work of the presents, and a lot of chocolate was consumed. The day was a great success, with lots of happy juniors all excited for Christmas.
